How did you hear about Mailcleaner: Googling

Automatic temporary disabling of timing-out modules

Hi Olivier,

I had to troubleshoot another filter blockage today, which wasn't easy whilst I was in the middle of a 5 hour car journey using 3G/GPRS on my iPhone to troubleshoot the issue.

It turned out to be a RBL timing out, which in turn backed-up the filter spool to about 1400 messages.

What I would therefore like to propose is that:

- when Mailcleaner finds timeouts reoccurring from a specific datasource (e.g. RBL, Spamassassin, etc)
- the spool goes over a set number of messages (e.g. 1000)
- the datasource giving a timeout message is bypassed and mail is delivered (possibly with a disclaimer about not being 100% cleaned?)
- the spool clears (e.g. <100)
- a time period has passed (e.g. 1hr)

This would stop me panicking that my users are about to kill me for not receiving their mail! and should solve a fair number of fault calls related to Mailcleaner I'd assume?
