I didn't notice this anomaly and there were more than 900 download of this new Final MailCleaner so I suppose this is a specific problem on both your machine (else i hope people would have invade the forum and would have launch object to developpers :lol:).
If messages are not present in spam quarantine but are present in tracing, this means than the slaves (could be the slave instance part of the master) can't connect to the main instance of the DB to indicate the received spam. Two cases:
1) You also used the Patch to mix 201410 and 2017** and it appears than there is a bug in this patch of you should'nt use it in your case.
or
2) There is a problem with passwords between main DB instance and slave instance. Nothing known but should have appears in red during configurator or could be related to initial configurator DB bug but can't happen on a final.

Hi All,

Just got to test out this version in ESXi and after booting to the login screen and manage to login without problem.

One problem I face is that on the console on ESXi is that the keyboard layout is not correct. Pressing "Shift + 1" should give me the "!" symbol but I am getting "+". So I cannot type the "-" sign in the console (eg. to shutdown -h).

I did not get this problem when I login via SSH. I know I need to change the keyboard setting but I am not very sure.
Should I be doing:
1. dpkg-reconfigure console-data?
2. dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration?
3. edit /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf and change the keymap to "y"?

Also I just found out that after I configure the domain, I tried to test the Users authentication but it is not working. The users are local users in the Zimbra mail server, on mailcleaner I configure the following:
Authentication type : smtp
Authentication server : mail.domain.com
Username modifier : add the domain using @ character
Address lookup : build address by adding the domain to the username

Test authentication and it failed. Is there something that I am missing out?

Any advise?

Will it be possible to get an ISO install like older versions?
My VPS provider does not allow image files, only to install from ISO

Hello,
Yes we planned to provide an iso a bit later this year. Probably an Iso embedding a VM or a docker container.
A basic appliance in iso format would means to rewrite a complete installer and we think this is useless in 2017.
Everybody can run an iso embedding a ready to go docker container I suppose so it should be ok for most people.

Hello,

i just installed latest version of Mailcleaner, all is fine except an error on SpamHandler

I checked password on DB and all seems fine.
What i can check for this error?

Installation not in cluster, 1 single Node.

Hi all,

just updating to the new jessie version been running great for 2 days, but having an issue today with releasing quarantined mail.
i don't have an idea where to start looking, my exchange server accepts mail without an issue and mail is coming in as normal.

setup as follows:
ldap joined to domain
quarantine report set as digest mode

Hello,
For people like Martijn or Aqumo having no or not all messages in quarantine (but they appear in Tracing) (Martijn is ok now normally, he'll confirm if it is the case ! :wink: ):
(This should be rare enough as i have 2/3 feedback of this bug on more than 1100 downloads now)

Code: Select all

/usr/mailcleaner/bin/mc_mysql -m mc_config
select * from master;
select * from slave;
Check if the password you set is the good one there.
if it isn't:
Reuse the Wizard to change DB password (but they should be ok here)

THEN:

Code: Select all

/usr/mailcleaner/bin/mc_mysql -s mc_config
select * from master;
select * from slave;

Check if the password you set is the good one there.
They are probably not in master table or slave table. If that's the case:

Code: Select all

update master set password='MyPasswordISet';
update slave set password='MyPasswordISet';

Care if you use a cluster to add a where clause with id=yourid.
Then /etc/init.d/mailcleaner restart

If all password were good already, restart MailCleaner this should resolve the problem. I'll probably add some restart at the end of the Wizard (but i have to find a way to do it without killing the apache process I'm sitting on !)

when I receive "ncoming MTA stage: 2017-09-27 15:53:24 H=mail-yw0-f174.google.com [209.85.161.174] F=<@gmail.com> rejected RCPT <@>: response to "MAIL FROM:<> SIZE=14516232" from 0.0.0.0[0.0.0.0] was: 552 5.3.4 Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size"

after Incoming MTA stage: 2017-09-27 15:53:26 H=195-23-112-116.static.optimus.net.pt (XC-A13B9F) [195.23.112.116] F=<@> rejected RCPT <@>: (result of an earlier callout reused) all mails remain so clear cache now in smtp.
It happened to me many times.
what can be ?
how can I solve?

How do you set mailcleaner quarantine report to be sent twice daily?

have set the format to digest but still not getting reports when mails are blocked
