Because of hardware problems with our "old" MailCleaner 2009 I had to set up a new. I took the MailCleaner 2010 Beta 1.

There were no proplems with the installation and the upgrade to MC 2010 Beta 2.

Some things are different to the old version:
- no search in logs
- can´t view messages in queues

But this version works stable and does a very good job.

So far I am impressed. I did have a few question I posted in the configuration area, but overall I like the look and feel of this over 2010. I plan on putting it in production for a short time today to see how things go.

I did have one feature request (maybe it is too techincally difficult to accomplish), but how would one go about backing up the configuration of the server? Can we have an option in the WebGUI to backup the config?

Thanks for all the hard work here Oliver and team. :D

Hi,

I really appreciate the work on MailCleaner it's a really nice piece of software. What's annoying me is the fact that domain aliases get an extra account for the login. The user has to manage user@example.com and user@example2.com what can confuse users. Isn't it a better solution to mange this under a main domain like example.com?

Bye

Until now i'm quite happy, al though there are some issues left.

First of all apache seems to stop after a period of time, a command to start apache fix this problem.

Second, the webinterface seems to react very slow, this was in previous mailcleaner much better.

Third, The greylisting don't seems to work well, don't know why exactly but a lot of mails where greylisted and thos domains can never send a mail again without being listed.

Last, The processing of mail seems sometimes being very slow or even unresponsive, think about 15-30 min delay. Which in the older version was around 1-5 minutes.

But overall i'm very pleased with this version, so i would say thanks to the builders of this very good mail filter. :D

My system only stores the general datas in
> Configuration>Domains > Global domains settings

the other pages keep the default values.

Is there any documentation on "ldap callout configuration"?

Everything I've tried to get it working ends with "An error occured : datanotvalid".

What's the trick?

Or, is it just not working yet? is there a work around?

I really like the newly improved mailcleaner...! I am excited to take it into production.

What i don't like are some of the new screens in the webinterface!
In the old mailcleaner you had the domain configuration in one screen. This gives you a quick look at the domain configuration at one glance. Now you have to go through various screens to see the whole configuration. Is it possible to restore the old behaviour?

Many thanks.

First off, thanks for a very interesting product.

A bit confused, I'm unable to change the default value mail.yourdomain in global domains settings?
However i try it, it wont stick, always reverts back to the default setting.

Any ideas whats wrong?

/Daniel.

try to restart the Slave database process from the status panel. This sounds like a replication out-of-sync problem.

No change, problem remains.

If I edit the "Global domains settings\General" and submit, next step, previous step, the settings are as they should. But if I do the same with the delivery settings, the settings are reverted back.

The interesting thing is that when I do exactly the same with a "new domain", thins works fine.

ok, you're right, fixed in beta 3 which should be available really soon (2 days max, the cvs is already updated and fix with this).

Well, it seems that the "use MX resolution" dont work as expected. It allways uses MX resolution, regardless of the current settings. Tried the above mentioned slave database restart, no go.

weird.. this is working fine here. Did you upgrade the whole mailcleaner cvs ? (/usr/mailcleaner).
Restart the outgoing MTA for file to be dumped again and then look at the file /var/mailcleaner/spool/tmp/mailcleaner/domains_to_mx.list and see what't in there.
