Many mails Filtering in spool

Postby opalo » Fri Jan 26, 2007 2:44 pm

Im running Mailcleaner on a DELL server with dual core Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 1GB of RAM 200 Domains and STMP callout
Every day filter about 20000 emails but from 16P.M. to 1 A.M. the
spool in filtering status have about 4000 mails delaying the output of
the emails about 1 or 2 hours.
The CPU use is about 40% and memory about 60%, in the top of
webserver say System load: LOW Spool status: LOW and in status say
System: 9% Datas: 3%. The server have fast connection to contact to
external antispam services (DCC, Razor etc..) running with STM4/OC12

What is the problem?

1GB RAM isn't that much for the number of emails you are processing. If thats 20000 of ones which pass the SMTP callout, then there's probably 100000+ being processed per day.
