Decisive whitelists and warnlists

Postby fsschmidt » Sun Aug 30, 2015 8:01 pm

Hi,

Is there any way to make the entries in the whitelists and warnlists be decisive?

My best regards.

Hello,
Whitelists are decisive.
Warnlist are not.

Then it doesn't work as expected.
Even if in the whitelist a message can be rejected at SMTP level (if blacklisted) or tagged at spam level.
For exemple I set the RDNS_NONE to 10 and I receive tagged emails because of the RDNS_NONE even if the domain is in whitelist...

Hello,
What field are you talking about ? Whitelists exists at SMTP Level, AntiSpam level, domain level and user level.
If you place an address in yhitelist at SMTP level, it will never be dropped but anti-spam will act normally.
Try to place whitelisted address in domain, user or anti-spam whitelist (Trusted IPs/Networks in global settings) and you should have no hit for rdns (none for spamc at all or any antispam module).
Last way to "whitelist" is to use antispam module "Trusted sources" (Trust SPF validation on these domains) to SPF-Whitelist some domain and then check "Avoid checking for good SPF" in module PreRBLs or not depending of filtering you need.

Hi,

There is no whitelist at SMTP level, there is a "Don't check these hosts" list where only IP addresses can be entered.
I only use the whitelist at Antispam level (just below the Trusted IPs/Networks field in global settings) .

We cannot enter domain name or full email address in the Trusted IPs/Networks field. It is designed for IPs and networks only.

What is the syntax of the whitelist field ?
How can we whitelist an entire domain at antispam level ?

Thank you

(Right for whitelist at SMTP level, it was a little shortcut, but not a good one)
In Configuration -> Antispam -> Global Settings
Check Enable access to whitelist,
then add: @domain.tld in "address", click on add element.

Already configured like that.
It doesn't work as expected. Emails are still tagged Spam.
