It's done by design, and rightly so.

I would however suggest that the method currently being used be revised a bit.
Way too much code overkill to ensure the mail message 'breaks' for safety reasons.

The aim is to ensure that no urls, remote images and links load - especially tracking info.
The simplest approach therefore would simply be to display the TexBody(if multipart) of the message.
If that is not available, simple regex to convert html to text(strip tags) would be in order.

To have the message 'kind of' display correctly, but safely, I'd go the route of modifying SRC and HREF attributes in the HtmlBody.
Disable/Remove nested Stylesheets that may hide background images/urls.

Perhaps when there is a moment to spare I'd look into it, still alot needs to be understood in terms of how MC stores/disables the raw message, but the above is all quite achievable.

Bump this if anybody would be interested in that modification?
