ESET And MailCleaner

Postby masterit » Sun Nov 15, 2015 2:43 am

I've seen a few new versions recently of ESET Products for linux. considering there's a few options:

http://www.eset.com/us/products/email-security-linux-bsd-solaris/

http://www.eset.com/us/products/file-security-linux-bsd-solaris/

http://www.eset.com/us/products/endpoint-antivirus-linux/

which version would work best? my guess is the mailsecurity for linux would be best suited but im not sure if that would conflict with the configuration of mailcleaner?

Hello,
You can't choose a random antivirus like this, as a wrapper is necessary for MailScanner as well as the corresponding Parser. I seen some test about Eset in the product but they re old, disabled and not updated since some years so i would recommend to:
- Check for other post to use Unofficial clamav sigs from SaneSecurity

This is not really a solution for you but in the commercial edition we just finished integration of Kaspersky too.

Hi FlorianB,

thank you for your insight.

i've seen in the parser configuration two mentions of eset. pre eset 3.5 and eset.

here: /usr/mailcleaner/etc/mailscanner/virus.scanners.conf_template

there also has been 1 post on here mentioning eset on mailcleaner however it's an old post.

That's exactly the confirmation i was looking for!

thank you.

i was afraid to try this as we've peaked on our vm infrastructure to test anything.

Hi together,

i would like to know, if the latest Eset NOD32 works with the latest Mailcleaner Community Edition.
There are many choices at the manufacture website. So i want to know, wich license (commercial) is the correct one?

Next: is the config example in the forum already working with the latest Eset NOD32?

Best Regards
Udo

Bonjour.

At the end of 2016 I've made a trial of Eset file security (4.5 I think) without problem on 2014.10 community.

I've dowloaded esets.amd64.deb.bin and use a trial licence requested at Eset website.

I've moslty follow that link : viewtopic.php?t=1828

Regards.
