I've been trying this both with the "old" MC and the new 2010 (and found little differences).

There's a table in mc_config with some RBL (positive and negative).
Adding a RBL in the table doesn't change anything with the RBL list in the configuration webUI.
I have no clue what the SQL table is for...

There's also a /usr/mailcleaner/etc/mailscanner/dnsblacklists.conf file with the list of the RBL you can use. Adding one here makes it appear in the configuration webUI.

Then there's a file per RBL in /usr/mailcleaner/etc/mailscanner/rbls/ explaining how it works (dnsname + sublist).

There are also two perl files (seems to be created/updated through cron) in /usr/mailcleaner/scripts/exim/spam_route.pl and /usr/mailcleaner/scripts/exim/spam_route.opt.pl. Once you've added a RBL in the dnsblacklists.conf and created its own file (in rbls) then you'll see the RBL appear in /usr/mailcleaner/scripts/exim/spam_route.pl.

So what is the correct way to add a RBL?

I know its only been two days, but I would really like to know the answer to this question. Im finding that a lot of the spam that is slipping through could easily be resolved by adding another rbl or two.

look at /usr/mailcleaner/etc/rbls. Adding a new definition here will add the rbl in the interface where you can then enable it.
