Hi Team,

We've a four cluster server of mailcleaner running.
But in the new server (all now have SATA CD-ROM and SAS Drivers) is it not possible to install because of the following error:

trying to locate cdrom: no ATAPI CD-ROM drives found
searching for installed SCSI adapters...
/linuxrc: 561: cannot create: Directory nonexistent
/linuxrc: 561: cannot open: no such file
/linuxrc: 561: cannot create: Directory nonexistent
/linuxrc: 561: cannot create: Directory nonexistent

And if use an IDE, it does not detect the disk... (Dell PoerEdge R200, SAS interface -SATA Disc- RAID1)

And if use an USB keyboard or mouse... noting. We must use PS2, and there are other server without PS2, only has USB.

Please, could youy let me know if there is any way to install on such server?

Kind regards and thanks, you are making a great job.

Gonzalo

Ok, I see in other posts that the kernel of the distribution CD does not support USB, SATA and so on, so my question is: anybody knows how to change the CD or upgrade the kernel in order to be able to install on USB only devices and SATA DVDs readers?

At this moment, we are using a software to paste an image from the mailcleaners installed on servers (IDE, PS2) to the USB, SAS, servers, but later we must to change hostname, IPs, mysql replication etc (at mysql table level, mailscanner config..) It's a little hard for every new installation.

I think (I understaund that is open soruce and you have not time to create a new CD) that if the open source vesion can not be installed on Dell 1950, Dell R200 and such servers will die. So that is I'm asking for anyone who had installed mailcleaner on servers without USB and SAS disk.

Thanks

hello,

you can read this post http://forum.mailcleaner.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=767.
I already explained that I'm hardly working on the version, which will be based on Debian Lenny, with a brand new kernel and so and so.. so yes, it will almost surely work on these new hardware, and no, it will not die.
