Re: Anti-Spam : PreRBLs

If this is a test bed I would try starting over because it might be a fluke. It almost seems like the Pre-rbls are not decisive. This might be a database issue. Did you add any blacklists? It might be an issue with the syntax in the rbl files. What happens if you go down the list enabling one at a t...

Re: Do i need to public ip?

I login to https://aws.amazon.com and sign in with my normal Amazon login. There may be some stuff to fill out for your account. Once inside look under compute and click EC2. Once inside you will see your username in the upper right. To the right of that is the region. Mine says Oregon, you will nee...

Re: Anti-Spam : PreRBLs

Have you followed the update instructions at:

http://forum.mailcleaner.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2012

I would also highly consider working with the 2017 beta version. It appears to be very stable and will be final in a few months.

Re: Do i need to public ip?

Usually it needs a public IP address. You’ll need a static public IP address to point the mx records to. I have found a nice way to do it is in the Amazon cloud. You can get a public ip and hosting for about $200 per year. This way if my local server/isp is down I still get mail held in mailcleaner ...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 Beta feedback

Hello, The VHD should be used with VirtualBox as it look like it is his native format. I didn't try it (only with Hyper-V) so i can't say more. Regards, Florian OVA is supposed to be an open source format to import in to any virtual host. I’ve imported into esxi and virtual box successfully with th...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 Beta feedback

No luck: with OVA, it's importing in my Workstation Pro (trial version), but when I try to boot it, I receive an error "the cpu has been disabled by the guest operating system. Power off or reset the virtual machine". Power off/on and still the same error. Will try to uninstall PRO and in...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 Beta feedback

No, it's unzipping error free. In Player or Workstation, it won't show as a supported extension (other than vmdk only), and if I force it to open the file, it's where I get the error. So the only thing you are seeing is the hard disk file. Have you tried the ova version? Googling it VMWare player u...

Re: System Banned extension

Ditto what kmv said. The extension ban is designed to be a global prohibition of certain file types from being delivered. That being said you could craft a spamassassin rule to look at the To: address and the attachment extension. Also this way the email would be in quarantine and the user could rel...

Re: Anti-Spam : PreRBLs

Have you looked at the message tracing to make sure they are not being decisive?

Have you applied all of the updates? (No one else has had this issue so I don’t think it’s a bug.)

If you added blacklists have you verified that the format is correct?

Re: MailCleaner 2017 Beta feedback

Hi, I ran: /usr/mailcleaner/install/install_perl_libs.sh as per previous post, but I am still not receiving any spam reports? Is there something I need to check? Regards, Leslie Sorry if I am repeating what has already been said. Right off the top of my head... make sure your domain settings is set...

Re: bayes training

If I am getting false positives and negatives, I look at whether I am using public DNS (which I should not be), whether I am using legitimate rbls and white lists, and whether spamassassin and clamspam are updating properly. A large number of false postitves and negatives is a sign that something is...

Re: My take on MailCleaner + Exchange + IMAP Bayes Training

I'm beggining to look at Nicebayes and your script. I don't know if it can take advantage of small amount of spams (i.e.: less than an 100 SPAMS per week and about 500 hams per week), or if I'm wasting my time trying to have it trained on such small amount of emails? Eitherway, I looked at your scr...

Re: Accepting E-Mail from website on 3rd-party Webserver

I would also consider getting rid of the ISP gateway. Mailcleaner has very good AV filtering with ClamAV and you can add bitdefender as well. Obviously MC can handle spam too. I like clean and simple. This way when I look at the mailcleaner tracing I know this is all of the incoming connections in o...

Re: Accepting E-Mail from website on 3rd-party Webserver

Is your SPF record setup properly listing your outbound email server (mailcleaner or what ever it is) and the IP of the ISP? Also have you tried adding your ISP's server IP address to configuration -> smtp -> connection control -> Allow external relaying for this host. I think this would make it an ...

Re: 421 Unexpected Failure

I found that I could ifdown eth0 (or whatever you have) change the settings in /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/network/interfaces and ifup eth0 and it would stick long enough to do updates. Once that is done then the wizard will permanently set up the network.
