Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

OK, so I now have a semi-configured 2017 instance behind a firewall away from my production 2014 cluster. My aim is to use the community tools to migrate the 2014 settings into the 2017 server and then create a cluster once that single server is working. Given what I said above about the 2014 cluste...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

So, the last time I tried to build a Mailcleaner 2017 instance from an OVA on the same network as my existing 2014 cluster I found that the 2017 build started logging into the 2014's database and editing things - aargh! luckily at that point I had VM snapshots and could roll back, but it still means...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

I've managed to install GIT now, but I still have questions about the upgrade process: I have 5 machines in a cluster. Unfortunately the cluster master is a 32bit variant whereas the other slaves that actually do all the mail processing are 64bit. In which order should I upgrade the cluster? master ...

Specific upgrade questions...

Hi all, I have 5 instances of Mailcleaner 2014 on VMware. They have been customised with additional RBL lists, custom_rules files, and minor tweaks here and there over the years and they work well. They currently support 157 domains and 518 users as per the front page of the web portal. My cluster m...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

Hi, When trying to install the community tools prior to upgrading a 2014.x cluster to 2017, I get the following: root@mailcleaner:~# cd && git clone https://github.com/MailCleaner/MailCleaner-Community-Tools.git -bash: git: command not found Any idea? Try apt-get install git first. You may ...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

Hi,

When trying to install the community tools prior to upgrading a 2014.x cluster to 2017, I get the following:

Code: Select all

root@mailcleaner:~# cd && git clone https://github.com/MailCleaner/MailCleaner-Community-Tools.git
-bash: git: command not found

Any idea?

Re: Performance Mailcleaner on HyperV

I have a 5-node cluster that's all virtualised (on VMware though). No slowdowns at all.

Re: SSL in Mailcleaner not working

Just to report I fixed this. For some reason the internal DNS name of my mailcleaner master had it's IP address changed. This meant that the slaves and the master weren't synchronising fully and also meant that the https version of the webpages weren't working. I sorted this, rebooted everything and...

SSL in Mailcleaner not working

Hi all, We have a 5-node Mailcleaner cluster on the 2014 build. It's been customised with several additions such as the bumper pack of RBLs etc over the years, and i'm due to upgrade it in a controlled fashion in the next few months. However, I'd really like to get https pages working for my custome...

Re: Which virtual machine did you install?

As per the post I put in feedback, I downloaded both the OVA and the VMDK for ESXi. I found that the OVA only had the 32bit version which is useless if you want to use more than 3.5Gb of RAM, and I had problems adding the VMDK to a VM (it wasn't recognised by VMware). Also, why is the OVA set for &q...

Re: MailCleaner 2017 "Jessie"/"Final" feedback

Hi, I've just had a big problem with Mailcleaner 2017 Jessie which needs consideration... I have a 5 node production version of Mailcleaner 2014 running. In addition to this I created a Mailcleaner 2017 VM from the OVF (because I couldn't get the VMDK to work on my ESXi) in order to test the 2017 ve...

Mailcleaner OVF

Hi there, Just a bit of feedback on the OVF version of Mailcleaner 2017 (although that might extend to other versions). 1) The README_OVA is written from a Linux-based machine, hence on a PC the lack of a linefeed with the carriage return means it's hard(er) to read the text. 2) Most importantly, th...
